We undertake only privately-funded work.

For some types of work, e.g. change of name deeds, we know exactly how much work is involved and will give you a fixed cost quote. If the matter is likely to involve negotiation and potentially a dispute, then we will give you our best estimate of costs in your case. As with all contentious matters, it is often difficult to be precise and as your matter progresses the estimate of costs may vary either upwards or downwards.

We do offer other fixed costs for a range of matters and more details can be provided to you on request.

At the outset we shall send you our Terms of Business with a written costs estimate, as well as information sheets in respect of your particular matter. You will be expected to pay an agreed sum on account of costs and during the course of your matter you will be sent regular bills, together with further requests for payment on account. In this way you will receive several small bills during the course of your case, as opposed to one large bill at the end. This means that you are able to closely monitor the level of your costs, and if you require, you can give us a limit of costs that you wish to incur in respect of your matter.

There are occasions when Orders for Costs can be made against the other party and some or all of your costs recovered. Primary responsibility for the firm's fees would rest with you, however, but any monies that are recovered from the other party would be paid to you.
